JSON Formatter
Beautify, minify, and validate JSON in seconds. Paste your data and let us straighten things out.
Your JSON, tidied up.
Good to know ✳
Your JSON is processed directly in your browser. It isn’t uploaded to a Vyblet server. Formatting adds indentation for readability, minifying removes unnecessary whitespace, and validation checks whether the syntax is valid.
✳ LEARN BY DOING
How to use this tool
- Paste your JSON into the Input panel (or click Try example).
- Click Format to add readable indentation, Minify for a compact result, or Validate to check syntax.
- If validation succeeds, review the result and use Copy to reuse it.
Practical example: Debug an API response
An endpoint returns {"ok":true,"items":[1,2]}. Formatting exposes the nested array. If a trailing comma slips into the source, validation flags an error; correct the input before copying the result.
Important limitation: This is a syntax checker, not a JSON Schema validator. The JavaScript parser may lose precision for numbers larger than the safe integer range.
Frequently asked questions
Can formatting fix invalid JSON?
No. Correct commas, quoting and brackets in the input. The validator reports parsing errors but does not guess repairs.
Does it reformat private data on a server?
No. Parsing and formatting happen locally in the browser. Nonetheless, avoid pasting secrets unnecessarily.
Why does a number change representation?
JSON.parse and JSON.stringify work with JavaScript numbers. For very large integers or exact decimals, prefer a precision-aware tool.
